The non-profit purpose of international utility of the Association shall be, within the European Union and worldwide to: (a) Address all issues concerning the calcium carbonate industry represented in the Association, notably in the scientific, technical, documentary and institutional fields, as well as those concerning international co-operation, inter alia, within the European Union, as well as research and elaboration of solutions to the matters concerned; and (b) Improve all aspects related to public health and environment, including the improvement and standardisation of labour and health conditions, the definition of adequate norms and specifications, and the information of the Members, and the industries using calcium carbonate, and of the regulatory community and national authorities.
