Promote the democratic participation in the European Union and Europe Strengthen the community between the European citizens and nations Create networks, debates and dialogues and strengthen the democratic conversations Focus on community and diversity Extend knowledge on and possibilities for ‘folkemøder’ (democracy festivals) across Europe and the EU Support Future of Europe and be a potential tool for the further implementation between the EU and citizens We are a Festival where we bring citizens of Europe closer to their elected politicians as well as breaking down barriers. We are based in Mariager, Denmark but have aspirations of bringing our Festival based on the Scandinavian traditions of democratic festivals (folkemøder) to the rest of the EU and Europe.
